Democrats urged not to sign special session petition

Democratic lawmakers are being urged not to sign a petition calling for a special session to consider bills fighting back against the Biden administration's vaccine mandates.

House Democratic leadership sent an email out to its caucus, asking members not to sign the petition initiated by GOP leaders.

The email said the special session was opposed by Gov. Laura Kelly, Senate Democratic leadership as well as House Democratic leaders.

"If you are considering signing onto this letter, I would encourage you to reach out to our office first, and we are more than happy to have that conversation with you . . .
