A self-described "football mom" and community advocate is lining up to run as a Democrat for Kansas secretary of state.
Jeanna Repass of Overland Park this week appointed a treasurer so she can start raising money to run for the position.
Repass declined comment until she makes an official announcement of her candidacy.
Repass would give the Democrats a candidate to run against either Republican incumbent Scott Schwab or his primary challenger Mike Brown.
Repass has worked as the director of urban mission outreach for the United Church of the Resurrection in Leawood.
