For just the second time in 11 years, Kansas saw an increase in the number of concealed-carry permits issued after the state eliminated a $100 fee for the licenses.
The attorney general's office reported that 4,795 new or initial concealed carry licenses were issued during fiscal year 2024, which ended last June 30.
The report, submitted to legislative leaders at the end of the year, reveals a 27% increase in new concealed-carry permits from 2023 when SSJ
