Deputy Commerce Secretary Paul Hughes late Monday clarified the agency's position from earlier in the day, saying the agency does not support an ongoing buy down of the state's corporate income tax as part an incentive package considered by the Kansas Legislature.
"I unintentionally caused confusion about the Department of Commerce’s position on the corporate income tax reduction in SB 347," Hughes said in an email sent to members of the House Commerce Committee.
