Prosecutors on Wednesday charged two men in connection with the beatings of two patients at Larned State Hospital last month.
Pawnee County Attorney Doug McNett filed charges against Anthony Ruiz-Hernandez, 22, of Topeka and Andres Gustavo Barrientos, 24 of Leavenworth.
Ruiz-Hernandez was charged with one count of attempted first
degree murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery.
Barrientos was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit first Degree Murder and one count of aggravated battery.
Barrientos is currently being housed on local charges in the Leavenworth County Jail . . .
