Incoming Speaker Pro Tem Blake Carpenter is bringing in a staffer from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City to be his chief of staff.
Carpenter on Tuesday morning named Alad Aguirre as his his top lieutenant.
He joins Carpenter after working as director of small business development for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City.
Aguirre worked one on one with new and developing businesses to grow regional commerce and served as an advocate for small business.
Aguirre graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, psychology and Spanish in 2018.
While attending UMKC, Aguirre was president of the the College Republicans.
In 2020, he earned a master’s degree in business administration from Rockhurst University.
