Candidates running for governor started reporting their fundraising activities for 2025, with Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt announcing that she's raised almost $1 million.

Schmidt filed a report showing that she raised about $980,000 during 2025, including about $81,500 in loans. She reported having about $928,000 in cash on hand.

“Kansans are ready for responsible and steady Republican leadership,” Schmidt said in a statement.

“We’re building a campaign the right way — with broad grassroots support, careful stewardship of resources, and a clear path forward,” she said.
