As Mike Brown's term as chair of the Kansas Republican Party neared an end, the state GOP spent tens of thousands of dollars celebrating President Donald Trump's election and toasting "America's Golden Age" for an event costing more than it brought in.
The Kansas Republican Party spent an estimated $108,778 on speakers, consulting fees paid to GOP insiders, event space and other expenses attributed to the "Golden Age" events that were held during the last days of Brown's term as chair in late February.
