Gov. Laura Kelly on Thursday announced that Kansas will start sports wagering Sept. 1, making it the 31st state to allow betting on professional and college sports.
Kelly said that sportsbooks at the state's four casinos can begin accepting wagers in person and on mobile platforms starting Sept. 1 and will officially open Sept. 8 in time for the first game of the 2022 NFL season.
