Republican Gov. Jeff Colyer turned up the heat on Secretary of State Kris Kobach Thursday, asking him to recuse himself from giving legal advice in the ongoing vote count in the GOP gubernatorial primary.
In a letter sent to Kobach on Thursday, the governor asked the secretary of state to let Attorney General Derek Schmidt step in and help oversee the counting of an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 provisional ballots and hundreds, if not thousands, more of mail-in ballots.
