Democratic congressional candidate Nancy Boyda is parting ways with the Democratic Party and coming out against transgender girls competing in girls sports, a position that is drawing criticism from within her own party who called it "disgraceful."
In a statement this week that generally expressed support for protecting transgender Kansans from bullying and violence, the former 2nd District congresswoman said she could not support allowing transgender athletes to participate in girls sports.
