Boyd Gaming sues state over historical horse racing

Boyd Gaming quickly sued the state alleging breach of contract within hours of Gov. Laura Kelly signing a bill that authorizes sports wagering.

Boyd, the manager of the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, south of Wichita, argues the bill's authorization of historical horse racing machines at the now-defunct Greyhound Park in Sedgwick County violates an agreement not to allow competition until 2032.
