Ben & Jerry’s boycott prompts review of contracts

Gov. Laura Kelly's administration is reviewing state contracts to determine if the parent company of Ben & Jerry's is doing business with the state after the ice cream company decided to stop sales in the “occupied Palestinian Territory.”

House Majority Leader Dan Hawkins asked for the review to determine whether Unilever - of which Ben & Jerry's is a subsidiary - was violating a state law that bars contractors from boycotting Israel if they do more than $100,000 in business with the state.
