Attorney General Kris Kobach said an effort to sanction him in an ongoing legal dispute over transgender marker changes on driver's licenses is a partisan legal attack that has a "nefarious political underpinning."
Kobach said that a request by Gov. Laura Kelly's administration seeking to punish him for a motion he filed was politically motivated and filed in bad faith.
"The state strongly opposes it and moves the court to dismiss it expeditiously," Solicitor General Anthony Powell wrote . . .
