Legislature passes bill extending unemployment benefits

With the economy running into turbulence in the face of the coronavirus, the Kansas Legislature on Tuesday agreed to extend the length of time for unemployment benefits.

The House voted 119-0 to approve a bill extending the eligibility period for unemployment benefits, which run from 16 to 26 weeks depending on the jobless rate.
