Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog is planning to file to run for governor as a Democrat on Monday, potentially shaking up a Democratic primary that's been dominated by two major candidates so far.
Multiple sources told the Sunflower State Journal over the weekend that Skoog has been meeting with Democratic leaders in recent days as he sized up a run for governor.
He plans to file with Jennifer Bacani McKenny of Fredonia as his running mate.
The deadline for candidates to run for office is noon at Monday.
