Efforts to ease the public angst over property taxes collapsed Thursday with one bill failing in the House and another passed over in the Senate.
Early in the day Thursday, a bill capping property tax assessments at 3% failed to advance to final action in the House, leaving its future cloudy.
The bill is not dead but will remain on the House calendar and can be brought up at any time, possibly for compromise tax legislation or if votes start to coalesce behind . . .
