House Speaker Dan Hawkins has filled out his team with the hiring of two new staffers, one who will serve as legislative director and the other as legislative liaison.
Hawkins has hired Tyler Coats as legislative director, replacing Payton Lacey, who became the speaker's communications director when Carrie Rahfaldt was named chief of staff.
He also has hired Jaime Berkgren as legislative liaison. Berkgren replaces Logan Patrick, who went to work for the Senate majority leader.
Coats most recently worked a senior legislative assistant for the National Rifle Association.
He also worked for the NRA as a legislative assistant . . .
