Led by Unified Government Mayor Tyrone Garner, a coalition of groups that advocate for civil liberties and immigrants called on Secretary of State Scott Schwab and Wyandotte County Election Commissioner Michael Abbott to provide voting materials in Spanish.
Efforts have been underway for 18 months to get the Wyandotte County election commissioner to publish ballots, sample ballots and ballot instructions in Spanish for a county where 28% of its residents speak a primary language other than English.
