Congressional delegation weighs in on redistricting

The Kansas congressional delegation is now weighing in on plans to call a special legislative session to redraw their election boundaries before the 2026 midterm elections.

So far, Democratic U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, who represents the 3rd District, has been the most vocal because her district, centered in suburban Johnson County, is likely to be carved up in way that it would favor Republicans.

She has suggested that any new map drawn by the Legislature would be challenged in court, which may lead to a different result than in 2022 when the state Supreme Court upheld the map. The . . .
