Commerce battles back against multiple legislative audits

Lt. Gov. David Toland is fighting back against multiple legislative audits examining how the Commerce Department is administering $150 million in federal COVID relief grants.

In a written response to a new audit released this week, Toland noted it was the third audit of the grant program and the 12th audit reviewing economic development and the Department of Commerce since 2022.
