Republican congressional candidate Amanda Adkins on Tuesday morning announced several campaign staffing changes.
The 3rd District candidate has hired public affairs consultant Matt Patterson as her campaign manager.
Patterson worked most recently for Kinder Morgan, an owner and operator of oil and natural gas pipelines.

He also worked as a research analyst for the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute, a think tank started in 1996 to implement conservative public policies in state government.
He also worked as a field director for former Texas state Sen. Don Huffines, who lost a reelection bid in 2018 in a north Dallas district that had been in GOP hands for 30 years.
He studied political science at Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas at Arlington.
“I am grateful to have Matt join our team as he brings the experience, commitment and energy needed to defend the conservative, Kansas values I am running to protect,” Adkins said in a statement.
“I am committed to the people of this District and Matt is an integral part of my campaign’s success.”

Maggie Collins will take on the role of policy adviser. She has been working as a strategic adviser with the Adkins campaign since it started last year.
Collins has a deep resume of government and private-sector experience, including serving as director of aviation security policy at the White House during President George W. Bush’s administration.
She also served as assistant director of legislative affairs for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and as a legislative assistant to former U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback.
Collins also worked at Cerner Corp. as manager of federal government and industry relations.

She has a master’s in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College and a bachelor’s in political science and communications studies from the University of Kansas.
The campaign also announced that Alana Roethle will work as director of engagement.
Roethle is supporting the campaign’s efforts to connect with voters, including an initiative that focuses on women in the 3rd District.
She is the former Kansas Republican Party secretary and former executive director of the 19th Amendment Centennial.
