With the Legislature taking away the executive branch's power to direct the budget, Gov. Laura Kelly and her budget director will hit the road to take public suggestions about what should be included in the budget for the 2026 legislative session.
The governor will be joined by Budget Director Adam Proffitt at a series of eight events across the state starting Thursday, Oct. 9, in Salina and ending Nov. 12 in Wichita.
