Top administrator affirms DEI removal from state agencies

Gov. Laura Kelly's administration on Tuesday affirmed that it had complied with a new state law that called for eliminating diversity, equity and inclusion from state government agencies.

Adam Proffitt, secretary of administration, appeared before the State Finance Council to certify that the state was complying with the new law.

The Legislature inserted language into the state budget last session directing the Department of Administration to certify by Aug. 1 that state agencies have eliminated DEI positions, policies, programs and related grants or contracts.

Among other things, Proffitt certified . . .
