A school-choice bill providing tax credits for schoolchildren enrolled in private schools or home schools passed out of a Senate committee late Thursday after being sidetracked earlier in this session.
The Senate tax committee voted out a bill extending a tax credit equal to the amount of 95% of the state base aid per student – $4,846 this year – for children enrolled in accredited private schools or home schools. The state would keep 5% for administration.
