Senate budget-writers got off to an earnest start Wednesday, cutting roughly $132 million from the proposed 2026 budget that the House delivered to them last week.
The Senate Ways and Means Committee removed a number of projects from the budget that had been funded with a mix of state general funds, interest accumulated from COVID-relief money and lottery proceeds.
