Kansas tax receipts beat estimates in May, buoyed by better-than-expected revenues from individual income taxes.
The state on Monday reported that revenues were $77 million over estimates for May and $158.2 million more than expected for the fiscal year ending June 30.
The state's improving fiscal outlook stems partly from revenues from individual income taxes.
Revenues from individual income taxes were about $68 million higher than estimates for May and about $137.7 million higher than the current fiscal year estimates.
