Former turnpike chief executive passes away; credited for highway’s upkeep

The former chief executive officer and top engineer of the Kansas Turnpike Authority, credited for keeping one of the state's primary highway networks safe and sound, passed away recently in Florida. He was 89.

Rodney D. Fogo managed the KTA for 29 years before retiring in 1994. He was also named president of the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Authority.

He passed away Nov. 16, 2022 in Saint Augustine, Florida.
